Leviticus 25:1-26:2

Devar TORAH: B’Har (on the mount)
Scripture: Vayikra (Leviticus) 25:1-26:2; Reference Bereshith (Genesis) 2:7
Mishkan David: The Inner Court

How do we define land? To me it was the dirt that we chopped and planted cotton/beans/gardens in as a child. Always, when I read about land, I thought of the physical land that can be worked to grow things, walked on, built upon, played with, etc. I’ve never in my lifetime seen those who “own” land let it “rest” every seventh and fiftieth year.

While reading this devar Torah the scripture Bereshith (Genesis) 2:7 came to mind. It is written, “And Hashem God formed the man of dust from the ground, and He blew into his nostrils the soul of life; and man became a living being.” Tanak page 5. I am, or my physical body, is fashioned from the dust (dirt) of the ground. Now I’m reading that every 7th year and every 50th year REST is to take place in order to receive new life (Yom Kippur, which we celebrate every year), whether being bought back or redeemed or being a slave to it (freedom) or simply beginning anew (transitioning/returning).

There are precepts/commands given to us by Echad that cause/help us to cause immortality in our physical bodies. Mankind doesn’t let the dust/earth rest as per the instructions given by Echad (at least I don’t know any that do, not even in Israel). Therefore, we have the death of the land (the actual dust/dirt). Scientists and researchers are proving that we are destroying the earth (dust/dirt) and its causing all kinds of problems in the earth which leads to problems in the air, etc. Mankind is not obedient even in taking care of what we, our physical bodies, are made of. And how do we treat our physical bodies – the foods we eat (Leviticus 11), the exercise, or no or little exercise (guilty Echad – please forgive me). I don’t know the billions/trillions, ad infinitum, years this earth has existed, but I do know that it still does, and Echad/God says it is forever to be.

In Genesis 1:26-27, “And God said, “Let us make Man in Our image, after Our likeness. They shall rule over the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, and over the animal, the whole earth, and every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth. So God created Man in His image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” Please read verses 28-30.

Now after reading/listening to this devar Torah and my Teacher, Rebbe Moshe ben Avraham, I am ready to walk in the path that leads to eternal life (physical immortality) in the physical body. This earth (my physical body) is the Lord’s, I shall dwell in it – please read Devarim 10:14; Psalm 24:1. I shall do what Echad has purposed me to do – have dominion and LIVE!!! This is the path I am to walk in – Baruch Echad!!! To be continued…
