DEVAR TORAH - TETZAVEH

     Shemot 27:20-30:10

Yehoshua ben Moshe

Shalom Aleichem,
We commence this D'var Torah by focusing upon the title of the parashat. The title of the Torah portion is "TETZAVEH". The IVRI transliteration can be interpreted as "SHALL COMMAND". The portion begins with the idea of Hashem giving instructions for BENEI YISRAEL to keep a CONTINUOUS FIRE lit on the MENORAH within the Tent of Meeting, "Now you shall command the Children of Israel that they shall take for you clear olive oil, crushed, for illumination, to kindle a lamp continually. In the Tent of Meeting, outside the Partition that is near the Testimonial-tablets, Aaron and his sons shall arrange it from evening until morning, before HASHEM, an eternal decree for their generations, from the Children of Israel." Exodus 27:20,21. From the perspective of MISHKHAN DAVID, we are moved to ask the question, why would G-d give a COMMAND that seemingly is impossible to keep being that the physical Tabernacle that was erected and it’s physical material are no longer in exist? Being that this was a COMMAND, the thought on how to observe this becomes seemingly conflicting until we began to gage this from the perspective of MISHKHAN DAVID, that is, the from the ROOT LANGUAGE. What we see is that HASHEM is OMNISCIENT, that is, ALL KNOWING, it is written, "For the conductor, by David, a psalms. O HASHEM, You have scrutinized me and You know. You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought from afar. You encompass my path and my repose, You understand my thought from afar. You are familiar with all my ways. For the word is not yet on my tongue, behold, HASHEM, You knew it all. Back and front You have restricted me, and You have laid Your hand upon me. Knowledge is beyond me; exalted, I am incapable of it. Where can I go from Your spirit? And where can I flee from Your Presence?" Psalm 139:1-7. So this thought would lead us to the fact that He knew that the original physical Tabernacle that was erected in the wilderness would be no longer physical amongst BENEI YISRAEL. This COMMAND, no doubt needs a HIGHER INTERPRETATION from the ROOT LANGUAGE. The ILLUMINATION will be a VISIBLE MANIFESTATION OF G-D'S INVISIBLE ATTRIBUTES. This comes by way of UNCOVERING the hidden QUALITIES of HASHEM that are on the inside of us. The priesthood still exists much in the same way BENEI YISRAEL still exists. Our purpose as a nation is still the same and that is to be a KINGDOM OF PRIESTS to the nations. This concept can be seen in what was written in Torah, "You shall be to Me a kingdom of Ministers and a Holy nation. These are the words that you shall speak to the Children of Israel." Exodus 19:6. This is on a large scale or global scale. On a smaller scale LEVI still teaches BENEI YISRAEL on how to accomplish this Goal, "Behold, I am sending My messenger, and I will clear a path before Me; suddenly the Lord Whom you seek will come to His Sanctuary, and the messenger of the covenant for whom you yearn, behold, he comes, says HASHEM, Master of Legions. Who can bear the day of his coming and who can survive when he appears? For he will be like the smelters fire and like the launderers' soap. He will sit smelting and purifying silver; he will purify the children of LEVI and refine them like gold and like silver, and they will be for HASHEM presenters of offerings in righteousness." Malachi 3:1-3. This discloses to us that there is a need for the PRINCIPAL of what Torah is saying to be applied. Yea, the CONTINUAL FIRE must stay lit be LEVI while the Jewish people keep that same flame going within the nations in order to aid in the process of becoming LIKE THE CREATOR.

Devar TORAH: Ttzaveh (you shall command)

Scripture: Shemoth (Exodus) 27:20-30:10

Mishkan David: Building Presence (Inner Court- me/One)

2nd Step: Inner Court (the receiving of the sacrifice/wealth & power) Perpetual. Instructions are given as to what goes where. When you read the above parsha portion we see how, what and who does as Teacher says.

Moses gives the words that Echad has given him while atop the mountain. These included what, how, when and where to place items and what the priests should wear and do in receiving the peoples sacrifice.

The light is also talked about. My/Our Teacher tells us we need to take the lampshade off so the light shines and is seen. The prophet Isaiah says, And nations shall walk by your light. (60:3). Study TORAH, listen to your Teacher and let the Light of your heart shine. As a man thinketh in his heart so is he. (Proverbs 23:7)

In this parsha also is given to Moses the person God has chosen Bezalel, to get this done. When Moses repeated this to the people he used the same approach as his Teacher used (see 31: 35:30).

Again, the Teacher (Moses) is on the mountain and even with the Ten Commandments and the unified pronouncement We will do and we will hear AM ISRAEL again begin to grumble and complain. Even being led to Inner Court is not the completion of the knowledge of our oneness with Echad!

Baruch HaShem thanks for my/our Teacher, Rebbe Moshe ben Avraham, yet appearing to me/us and showing me/us, This is the path walk in it!
