We commence this D'Var Torah by focusing upon the title of the parashat. The title of the Torah portion is titled "SHEMINI". The Hebrew transliteration can be interpreted as "EIGHT". From the perspective of MISHKHAN DAVID the number eight symbolize a "NEW BEGINNING". The Sidrah begins with the service of the priesthood. G-d's intention is that we will live like Him and NOT DIE. Seeing the Glory that transforms us from mortal to IMMORTAL. It's the job of ISRAEL to see the GLORY of ECHAD within them and cause the people in their sphere of authority to see that same glory in them. Most of the people alive now has not seen the glory of G-d . Seeing G-d that is in you is the key. To move from the idea of a PERSONAL G-D to an IMPERSONAL G-D will aid the person in seeing HASHEM ECHAD within them or an individual aspect of Him. There is a transforming effect on people that sees G-d in within them. It may take time for the protege to experience what the Teacher has concerning the experience of seeing ECHAD. To be spiritual is to see ECHAD. We don't want to entertain the culture of death. The prophet Elijah didn't experience death, "It happened when HASHEM took Elijah up to Heaven in a whirlwind: Elijah went with Elisabeth from Gilgal, Elijah said to Elisha, "Please stay here, for HASHEM has sent me to Beth-el." But Elisha said, "[I swear] as HASHEM lives and by your life that I shall not leave you!" So they went down to Beth-el. The prophets' disciples who had been in Bethel came out to Elisha and said to him, "Did you know that today HASHEM is taking your master from upon your head?" He said, "I know also. Be silent!" Elijah then said to him, "Elisha, please stay here, for HASHEM has sent me to Jericho." But he said, "[I swear] as HASHEM lives and by your life I shall not leave you!" So they came to Jericho. The prophets' disciples who had been in Jericho approached Elisha and said to him, "Did you know that today HASHEM is taking your master from upon your head?" He said, "I know also. Be silent!" Elijah then said to him, "Please stay here for HASHEM has sent me to the Jordan. "He said, [I swear] as HASHEM lives and by your life that I shall not leave you!" so they both went. Fifty men of the prophets' disciples went, standing opposite them at a distance, and the two of them stood at the Jordan. Elijah took his mantle and folded it over, and struck the water, which split apart this way and that, and they both crossed over on dry land. As they were crossing, Elijah said to Elisha, "Request what I should do for you before I am taken away from you." Elisha said, "May twice as much as your spirit be mine." [Elijah] said, "You have made a difficult request. If you see me taken from you, it shall be so for you; but if you do not, then it will not happen." As they were walking and conversing, behold! - a chariot of fire and horses of fire [appeared] and separated between the two of them, and Elijah ascended to Heaven in the whirlwind. Elisha was watching and shouting, "Father! Father! Israel's chariot and horsemen!" And then he saw him no more. He took hold of his garments and rent them into two pieces. He picked up Elijah mantle, which had fallen from him, and he returned and stood at the bank of the Jordan." II kings 2:1-12. This STORY is written in branch language to illustrate what is really in the ROOT LANGUAGE. In the ROOT LANGUAGE the prophet Elijah PUT ON PHYSICAL IMMORTALITY. For those souls who would undergo a correction into their true identity are destined to be the FIRST to enter into this EVOLUTIONARY STEP of the human conscious experience we call physical Immortality. This is the new beginning of that era.
Shalom, Shalom, in this devar Torah, we go to the third book of the Torah Leviticus (VAYYIQRA) which in Hebrew means and He called, and also referred to THE LAW OF THE PRIESTS. A clear knowledge of the book contributes greatly to an understanding of the Torah as a whole. Leviticus was written to show the children of Yisrael how to live, as well as to reveal redemption to all nations. Its laws reveal to Yisrael and to us The Most Highs standard for character conduct, and through the penalties of sin we see how inflexible is His holiness, which bring us to the question of todays devar Torah. Why did Moshe (Moses) say unto Aaron in LEVITICUS 9:7, GO UNTO THE ALTAR, AND OFFER THEY SIN OFFERING, AND THYE BURNT OFFERING, AND MAKE AN ATONEMENT FOR THYSELF, AND MAKE AN ATONEMENT FOR THYSELF, AND FOR THE PEOPLE, AND OFFER THE OFFERING OF THE PEOPLE, AND MAKE AN ATONEMENT FOR THEM; AS YAHWEH COMMENDED? Why was this important? Because Aaron was a priest first, and second, Aaron, too, was guilty of sin, therefore he had to first atone for his own sins. Then afterwards he could atone for the people. Just as Aaron was a priest for the people according to Shemot 19:6, And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation, we are a nation of priests so we are also not without sin. Nobody wants to be seen as with sin because most dont understand what sin means in Hebrew which means an offense or a fault; we all make our offense blindly or knowingly, we all have our fault for our Torah tells us none are without fault. We have a responsibility for the faults of our people are sometimes done by way of ignorance (Leviticus 4:22), so we are duty bound to reconcile the house of Yisrael with the Most High forever proof of this is in Ezekiel 45:20, FOR EVERYONE THAT ERRETH, AND FOR THAT IS SIMPLE: SO SHALL YE RECONCILE THE HOUSE. Erreth means sin through ignorance. When we have done so or know others of our community that have sinned through ignorance, we must atone for ourselves and for them as well because it is the Most Highs Law. We must understand that reconcile means to be merciful, pardon, cancel the debt, and most importantly, forgive. We must reconcile with our brothers and sisters and ourselves with the Most High in order to reconcile the temple, the family of the Most High and the spirit within which is in us. Part of life is managing the ongoing reconciliation of past deeds and present wisdom to effect change, but the reconciliation is wisdom itself.
Devar TORAH: Shemini (eighth)
Mishkan David: Inner Court
Moses has entered the Holy of Holies and is now teaching (or trying to teach) the nation of Israel by example. He has performed what the priest are to do (and the people) for seven straight days. Now it is time for Aaron, his sons and the elders of the nation of Israel to step up and do what their Teacher has done and given the commands of Echad to them by example.
Each day for seven days Moses erected the Tabernacle, performed the entire service himself and disassembled the Tabernacle when the service was done. The inauguration period climaxed with the consecration of Aaron and his sons as Kohanim on the eighth day. From then on only Kohanim were eligible to perform the Tabernacle service. This devar Torah describes the special service that the newly consecrated Kohanim performed on the day they achieved their new status. Their offerings would bring about the descent of a Heavenly fire, which represented Gods appearance among the people. Tanak.
Protocol!!! Watch my/our Teacher!!! NEW BEGINNING!!! There will come a time of ascension and I/we must be ready!!!
Aaron had to start immediately. His sons were to aid him. Instead of following his leadership (aww-thats just Dad!) they presented strange fire and tragedy struck. New beginnings sometimes cause the loss of those close to you. The Teacher will have the words that cause peace to reign even in sorrow. Of this did HaShem speak saying, I will be satisfied through those that are nearest to Me, thus I will be honored before the entire people, and Aaron was silent. Tanak Vayikra 10:3. The behavior of Moses (Teacher) and Aaron in the face of this grievous loss gave further testimony to their own greatness and brought about a new sanctification of Gods Name. Tanak
